University of Thessaly / Digital Systems Department

The Digital Systems Department of the School of Technology (University of Thessaly) is based in Larissa and its modern facilities are located on the “Gaiopolis” campus, on the Larissa-Trikala ring road. The Department fully covers the complete range of knowledge in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which it utilizes in the development of digital systems. These systems store, process, and transmit data and information in digital form.

The Department offers four-year undergraduate studies, as well as postgraduate and doctoral studies. In addition to the theoretical foundation of basic science, the curriculum offers a specialization in emerging areas of Digital Transformation, including primary precision production (such as precision agriculture), the Internet of Things, big data analysis, and artificial intelligence. These sectors already have a major impact on the economy and are characterized by a constant and increased demand for highly trained scientists. These characteristics provide the graduates of the Department with an excellent employment perspective.

The Digital Systems Department follows a philosophy of quality with respect for excellence and meritocracy, seeking the continuous improvement of the education provided to its students and recognizing the responsibility for providing a multifaceted contribution to society.
